The Marlborough Lodge was the third Lodge to be consecrated outside the Oxford City area. Being in Woodstock it took its name from the 1st Duke of Marlborough who resided in the nearby Blenheim Palace. Blenheim Palace was built in gratitude of his famous victory on 13th August 1704 near the village of Blindheim (Germany) against the French/Bavarian forces. The Lodge banner bears the insignia of the Spencer-Churchill family and it will be celebrating 150 years of existence in 2022.
